Dressing for Folsom
We're packing for Folsom Fringe and Folsom Street Faire, so I was checking out image galleries from past years to get an idea for how to dress.

I was wondering why there was so little skin on the average attendee, until I read this weekend's forecast:

SFO Sunday: High 64°

We moved away from Pennsylvania to avoid that kind of temperature. How can you get the girls naked when it's that cold?

I might as well have Dee dress in her fluffy blue bathrobe, which is proven to work in such cold climates:

But seriously, any recommendations or suggestions for attending our first Folsom Street Fair? We're taking the bus from Folsom Fringe up and back, so transportation shouldn't be a problem.

SF really hits its warm spell in September, the two times I've been it was in the 80's mid-day. It does cool off a ton at night especially, but a high of 64° does seem chilly, but ideal for latex. :) Just bring something warmer for the evenings if you're going to be out later. Also, bring water.

Folsom is a lot of fun, and certainly ideal for exhibitionists. There WILL be a circle of folks with cameras if you do anything remotely interesting, almost everyone carries a camera there, and you'll likely end up on the internet somewhere (but I don't think you mind so much). Last time I was there gray did a suspension off the walk signal on a light post in the middle of a crowded street, thats probably up your alley. Going with a group is helpful if you want to do something like that though, as that circle of drunken gawkers can bit a bit close for comfort.

There are quite a few vendors, sort of a street fest meets a small toy fair (though, I'm jaded and used to IML now) There will be a booth for some chiropractic clinic next to someone selling floggers, its wacky to see all kinds of different people crammed in together. Its awfully crowded, so I would take as little with you as you comfortably can - perhaps secure in a backpack or so.

Do stop in the Mr-S store while you're there, if you've never been. It more than makes up for the lack of other vendors.

If you want to see a lot more pics, just toss "folsom" into flickr. Literally tens of thousands of pictures.

Have fun!

I too will be at Folsom- let me know if you need a just-out-of-surgery-so-cant-lift-heavy-things assistant. I'd love to have the 2 of you finally meet my partner Amy if schedules collide.

Lee: love to see you again and meet Amy. We'll be wandering between the Kink.COM booth and the Folsom Fringe booth. My cell is the same as it used to be. --Mick and Dee

It would be super if it was only 64 but from my experience in the past I'd be shocked if it was. Its always super hot. I'm heading there too by the way.

I know SFO has microclimates, and it's always colder at Fort Mason than the Financial district. We'll hope to see you there!
