Vetrap Couture
We're back from Kink in the Caribbean, which was menaced but ultimately spared by Hurricane Paloma. This was our second wettest Kink week (2001 was completely rained out by Hurricane Michelle).

For us the highlights of the week were seeing Zamil and Mailiz again (they gave a great rope suspension performance they call "White"), the H2O party in the Quad Pool, the fire spinning by Fyregod Zor, and the pole dancing of Sin Fisted. As always the outfits were fabulous.

We traveled with our friends Ward and Jean.

Our best outfit was for Asylum night, showcasing medical fetish. We don't have any medical play outfits, but Dee thought that bandages counted as medical fetish, so I designed these matching nurse outfits (Dee's is Vetrap and Jean's s Co-Flex):

The best comment we got was the next day from another attendee who said: "I didn't realize those nurses uniforms were actually bandages. How did you get the dresses to hold together?"

We had the usual frustrations: Hedo III has a towel shortage, having moved their laundry to the Breezes resort; we're morning people and the events are all late at night, and as a male-dom I definitely felt left out by the event's focus on FemDoms and cross-dressing. As an asthmatic I'm always bothered by those smoking around me, especially one thoughtless cigar smoker, but there did seem to be fewer cigarettes this year than in the past. Those smoking ganja at least try to keep as much smoke as possible in their own lungs, and by sharing they divide the emissions from one unit among a number of people. The rain kept us from getting any good sunset photos this time.

Overall we had a good time. As a pan-sexual event, they try to cater to everyone, and there is at least something for everyone. It's absolutely a must-see event, but it can feel like you've been to an expensive buffet where you only like the meat and potatos. But there isn't any other event where you can make your wife walk around naked in collar and cuffs for a whole week. And unlike our other favorite party, you don't have to wear bathrobes over your latex while you walk from your hotel room to the party. In fact one of our favorite parts of Kink is heading to the bar before the party to show off your outfit to the other hotel guests.

Dee and I are glad to be back home...this is our last travel event of the year, and we are definitely looking forward to sitting at home and catching up on our DVR TV show backlog.
